Project Info

Situated on a sloped, wooded site above Lac Marois QC, the client’s vision for their new home was for a simple ‘’archetypal’’ form. The typical vertical organisation is inverted, with sleeping spaces on the ground floor and living spaces above. A garage is tucked into a landscaped earth berm and can accomodate 2 cars end to end. Entrance, mudroom and laundry are all downstairs, along with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Above, an open, sun filled space contains a kitchen, dining and living room. The living spaces open onto a spacious deck via wide patio doors. Tucked behind the kitchen are a media room, powder room and pantry. A screened porch completes the ground floor layout, accessed from both the media room and the deck. Exterior details are clean and simple, the colour palette black on black - with some warmth added by the wood decks & ceilings. The interiors are equally spare, with planes of white above blond wood floors. Extensive built-ins help keep the spaces uncluttered.
