Aeroterm A2

In mid-2016, Aéroports de Montréal announced its intention to expand YUL’s tarmac southward – necessitating the demolition and reconstruction of Aeroterm’s existing 50,000 square foot building 2.

The new, 78,000 square foot Aeroterm A2 was completed in the spring of 2018. This “state of the art” building is dedicated to maintaining YUL’s fleet of Ground Service Equipment (GSE). With 28′ of clear height, a second floor for airport office tenants fits under the roof, along with mezzanines for the GSE tenants.

The “skin” of the building is modular, permitting 20×20′ vehicle doors to be interchanged with “knock-out” panels of insulated precast concrete.

Above the base of doors and precast, a band of clerestory windows encircles the entire perimeter of the facility. Interior work spaces benefit from an abundance of natural light, both in the GSE areas and the offices.

GRS Architecture is very pleased to have been involved with Aeroterm’s latest project at YUL!

“Todd, Paul and the rest of the G+R team, a few words to describe our experience with you on this project – professionalism, quality work and results! As always, you’ve delivered over and above on a highly sophisticated project under the tightest of timelines. On behalf of the Aeroterm team, thank you for being a dependable development partner. We look forward to working with you again soon – many projects are on the horizon!”
